Sound Check | A Journey Through Cinema and Sound

This is my big question project. The film focuses on how the addition of sound changed the film industry. I hope you enjoy it!

 Thanks and Special Mentions:
Special thanks to Cameron Starbuck for narrating my project this time around. More thanks to my English buddies, Garrett and Gwyn, for helping me out in pretty much all aspects of the project. Thanks to Mr. Koch for helping me choose my topic. A big thank you to everyone who supplied their opinions by taking my survey. Thank YOU for watching my project. Feedback is always appreciated!

    1. Thank you Nasima. As I stated in a reply below, there still is a lot more that I wish I could've added! I think that using media to back up any points you have is a brilliant idea, and it works for more than just my project. Whatever your project is about, there's always going to be some sort of picture, video, or song that you can relate back to. Media provides something that people can relate with. I'm glad you enjoyed my project, thank you again!

    1. Thank you Harish. One thing that I really like to concentrate on is the quality of the project. There are a lot of checks that I run my videos through to make sure that they are the very best that I can make. People often say I'm a perfectionist, which I suppose is true, but only in regards to my own work. I can't tell you how many times I've restarted a project because the music wasn't right, or the font was too thick. Thanks again!

    1. Thank you Trisha. As I mentioned in a comment above, media is a great medium to get your point across with. Almost everyone can relate to Star Wars, hence my next to constant use of it. If your viewer can't relate to the project, then they become disinterested, and possibly won't enjoy it. I'm glad you liked my project, thank you four your feedback!

    1. Thank you. As with all my projects, I strive to add humor in as many places as possible. This one was a tad difficult, mostly because the topic is so research-centric, and there isn't a huge opportunity to add humor.

In regards to the movies, there was initially a very large list of films that I wanted to incorporate. Unfortunately, once I mapped it out, the project was going to be around an hour long. Who wants to sit through an hour long project? The answer is nobody. I cut a lot out, which really is too bad because there were a lot more points that I wanted to make. All in all though, producing a shorter project made it more manageable to create, and allowed me to present on time (That's a first). Once again, thank you, and I'm glad you enjoyed my project!

    1. Thank you Matthew. The process of choosing the movie themes was definitely a challenge. I used many sources from the Oscars, the Grammys, and many other award shows and user reviews. Obviously there are a lot more than twenty-three movies that had exceptional soundtracks. I had to greatly cut down my list of films, and mostly came down to "Can The Viewer Relate To This?". To answer this question, I turned to the survey that I conducted. I found the common occurrences, and used those films in addition to a few that I selected afterwards. There are a couple films in the "Through The Years" section that people thought should not have been recognized for their soundtracks. I added many films that had controversial opinions to give almost every decade a presence. You can't go through the history of film and skip ten years worth of arguably the most important and rapidly changing industry in entertainment. I'm glad you enjoyed the project, thank you!

    1. Glad you think so "Tater". A lot of work went into this video, and there are almost too many people that helped to list! As I've told others, I strive for professionalism with all my projects. An extra hour of rendering is alright as long as at least one person gets to enjoy the video in spectacular 1080p! The people who watch it matter most, and my goal is to entertain and satisfy everyone who watches it. Glad you enjoyed the project, thank you for the feedback!

    1. Thank you Susannah! I had a lot of fun making this video, and I'm glad that you like it just as much as I do! Thanks for sharing as well, it helps me out a lot. The Titanic scene is one of my favorite choices when it came to movie soundtracks. It was kind of a last minute decision, and I'm glad that so many people thought it was funny. Thanks again!

    1. Thank you! I love doing video projects, and they're a lot of fun for me and the viewers! Roughly 85 hours total were spent on the video, but it's totally worth it in the end. Enjoy English class this year, it's a lot of fun!
